A stunning collection of modular lava stone tiles, featuring intricate three-dimensional patterns that can be combined into endless creative layouts. This project draws inspiration from the memory of a charming house-museum belonging to a majolica collector, tucked away inside an 18th-century building in the historic heart of Palermo.
The stone majolica tiles capture the essence of the Mediterranean, meticulously carved by the master artisans whose craftsmanship defines Lithea’s signature style. Each tile is a rectangular module, designed as a delicate bas-relief with geometric and three-dimensional textures. The surfaces evoke the fluted columns of classical architecture, the rugged beauty of dry stone walls, the quarried stone blocks used in traditional construction, and the elegant squared or diamond-pointed stones typical of Renaissance masonry. The interplay of light and shadow across the tiles reflects the dramatic effects often seen in Baroque art and architecture.
Tile Dimensions:
18 distinct designs
Each tile measures 16 x 32 x 2 cm
Materials Used:
Volcanic lava stone sourced from the slopes of Mount Etna
Crema Tunisi marble
Bianco Carrara marble
