Greche is a travertine marble panel enhanced with Pietra Pece applications, featuring a modular design with interlocking bands. It draws significant inspiration from the Geometric Style of ancient ceramics, which originated in Athens and Magna Graecia during the 8th century BC. This style is known for its intricate black-painted decorations on vases, resembling delicate embroidery. The principles of this decorative style influenced various forms of ornamentation, including textiles and architecture, focusing on rational composition, perfect symmetry, rhythmic order, and a harmonious balance rooted in simple geometric shapes favored by the ancient world.

The Greche panel’s decorative elements are cylindrical in shape, reminiscent of guttae (Latin for “drops”), the ornamental motif hanging beneath the mutules of the cornice and the frieze of the Doric order. The Greche design reinterprets these ancient elements, adapting them for contemporary use. With a modular structure, the design can be endlessly expanded, offering customizable patterns that can evolve according to specific requirements.
