The inspiration traces back to the memory of a hidden house-museum belonging to a majolica enthusiast, tucked inside an 18th-century building in Palermo’s historic center. These “stone majolica” tiles embody a Mediterranean spirit, masterfully carved with the artisanal skill that defines Lithea’s craftsmanship. Designed as rectangular modules, these tiles are miniature bas-reliefs with geometric, three-dimensional textures, evoking the fluted shafts of classical columns, the rugged beauty of dry stone walls, the raw blocks from ancient quarries, Renaissance-style diamond-point ashlars, and the dramatic light-and-shadow effects characteristic of Baroque art.
