Etherea

Design :

Claudio Silvestrin

Brand :

Minotticucine by asso group

For the shape of Etherea, Claudio Silvestrin drew inspiration from ether, the fifth vital element according to Plato, and from the forms of Mother Nature. Right angles disappear, giving way to soft, continuous movements that follow the flows of energy, the smoothness of water, and the currents of air. The island’s joints transform into veined lines, following a natural and harmonious rhythm, giving life to a kitchen shaped by the very laws of nature. The tall cabinet doors lose their traditional static nature to become fluid lines, concealing the kitchen functions and blending aesthetics and technology in a harmonious and seamless gesture. At the center of each cabinet door, a source point recalls the origin from which invisible energies flow, introducing movement and life to the surface. The material, Corian, chosen with poetic and technical awareness, becomes a bridge between vision and function. It is a solid and moldable surface, which allows visual suspension without sacrificing the practicality of the countertop and cabinet doors. Moldable and thermoformable, it allows for seamless integration between the countertop, doors, and island, dissolving the boundaries between surface and volume, making Etherea resemble a suspended stone or a meteorite floating in space, almost defying gravity. Claudio Silvestrin’s intention is to dematerialize the kitchen object, rendering it ethereal with an almost natural beauty, beyond linear time, free from the coldness and rigidity of the machine, where matter and form merge in weightless harmony. Thus, in the Etherea kitchen, Corian is not simply a technical material: it is the tangible manifestation of an artistic vision, capable of suspending time and liberating the visual experience, slowing the vision and freeing the object from its immediate materiality, restoring it to a deeper perception. Etherea does not belong to a specific time; it seems shaped by invisible forces, both ancient and futuristic, like an object that transcends past and future, suspended in the very essence of its being.
